Awesome reunion!

The class of 1993 rocks!!!! We knew that back in the day, but for those of you that weren't able to join us on Friday or Saturday - everyone is still just as wonderful and fun as they always were. Friday night felt just like old times at the football game. It took us a little while to find each other (Nicki, Shayle and I ended up sitting alone in the bleachers for the first quarter before everyone found us - with big class of 1993 signs around us - what losers!) But we had a large group by halftime and the group at the bar in Waconia afterwards was hopping! On Saturday we had a quieter setting with lots of great pictures to look at - thanks to Cinda's AMAZING decorations - and more time to catch up with old friends. I don't want to steal everyone's thunder, so for those of you that made it out this weekend - post some comments! Let everyone know what the highlights were for you!
I'll update the posting when I get some more pictures - but here are some of the ones I have so far from Friday night. Enjoy!

One week to go!

Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing those of you who will be attending the reunion next week. We still haven't heard back from a lot of people, so if you haven't RSVPed for Saturday night please get back to me as soon as possible. Even if you can't make it, it will help me to make sure I have the numbers right for food etc. If you're on the fence, give me a call - I'd love the chance to try to talk you into it! (858-336-3592)

And if you're interested in going to the homecoming game:

Join us for the Waconia Wildcats Homecoming Football Game
Friday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m. Waconia vs. Watertown-Mayer
The Class of 93 will have a reserved section of bleachers on the north end.
After the game, meet at Wytt’s End for a few cocktails and conversation

The football game is at the Bayview Main football field (same place that Randy Razidlo caught that pass across the middle of the field that lead the Chiefs to beat Chaska in the fall of 1992...step one in bringing Thunder to the Dome!!!!) - was that a little too nostalgic?...I'm just warming up for next weekend...

Wytt's End is at 112 West Main Street in Waconia.

Both events are going to be a great time! Friday will be a blast from the past as we sit together and cheer Waconia on to victory - maybe Nicki will lead us in some cheers :). Saturday is going to be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends in a more relaxed setting - where you can enjoy some good food and find out what people like Josh Moonen, Lyle Goetz, Cinda Sechler and Sara Hager have really been up to for the past 15 years. And seriously - I'm going to talk Kelly into doing her butt dance - so don't miss it!

Plans are firming up!

We're getting closer to the reunion and plans are firming up. Invitations will be sent this week!

Reunion information:

Location: Oak Ridge Conference Center (http://oakridge.dolce.com)
Date/Time: Saturday, September 27th, 6:00 p.m.
Cost: $40 per person before September 20th, $45 per person at the door
Hors d'oeuvres will be served and there will be a cash bar.
If you live out of the area or don't want to drive home that night, a small block of hotel rooms are reserved until September 2nd for our group. Cost is $119 per night. Call 952-368-3100 to reserve a room.

Details on how to RSVP will be in the invitation. If you don't receive one or have any questions contact Jara (Raisbeck) Tripiano at jaratrip@san.rr.com. For those that have email addresses on our class listing, we will be sending out an evite for the event (saving paper and postage). If you receive a paper invitation or aren't sure we have your email address, send it to me at jaratrip@san.rr.com.

We are also working on some plans to go to the Waconia Homecoming Football game together (Friday, September 26th) and maybe going out for a little while afterwards. Keep checking the blog for more information in the coming weeks.

Cinda (Sechler) Pfeil is collecting high school pictures to display at the reunion. If you have any great pics you want to share please let Cinda know at cindapfeil@mac.com. She will accept scanned photos you can email or you can coordinate snail mail arrangements with her as well. She needs to have all the photos by September 20th so let her know soon!

For those of you that are on Facebook, we have a class group site - let me know if you have trouble finding it. For those that aren't on Facebook and are interested in keeping up with classmates, we actually have quite a few people with profiles from our class. I only recently signed up as I was working on tracking people down for the reunion and discovered that it is a great way to see what old friends are up to. I just wanted to point out to folks that we've got a pretty good WHS class of 1993 network going now if you're interested.

I hope everyone who wants to attend the reunion is able to make it! I am really looking forward to catching up with old friends!

Making Progress - but need your help!

We have a date and a venue!

Saturday, September 27th
The Oak Ridge Conference Center (http://oakridge.dolce.com)
Time: TBD - probably early evening

For those interested - we are planning on going to the homecoming football game on Friday night - maybe follow it up with a Waconia pub crawl. More information will be posted on that as the details get worked out.

Stephanie (Kerkhoff) Wagener is going to work on a memorial for our classmates that have passed away since high school. If you have any pictures/stories to share about Tyson Berger, Jon Beutow, or Angie Laugerman please pass them on to Stephanie at sjwagener@mchsi.com. Thank you Stephanie!

We're starting to make some progress on the reunion but need some help tracking down the rest of our classmates - we're at about 50% right now. For those of you that have worked on tracking people down - THANK YOU!!! We still need to find or confirm addresses on the following people so if you have a way to contact them, please let me know at jtripiano@gmail.com.

Day Two - well not really....

So the whole blogging thing kind of died when I got a little overwhelmed with life...I know - excuses excuses....but I'm back and it's crunch time - which happens to be when I'm at my best. We finally tracked down the class listing from 5 years ago and I've already received several responses from people I've emailed with updated information and some leads to finding more classmates. The goal is to get this information together in the next few weeks so if you think you have a lead - pass it on!

We're throwing around the idea of having our reunion the Saturday of homecoming weekend - thinking that it would be fun to go to the game together for those interested. We would keep the official reunion on Saturday though because Friday may be hard for some people to make with work/travel/etc. Right now, we're working the venue piece of that and may have to try for another weekend if we can't get it figured out. If we are able to make it happen for homecoming, it would be September 27th. That's still tentative though so don't go too crazy with reservations or anything yet. Hopefully that will get figured out in the next 2-3 weeks as well.

I'm going to try to keep this blog up to date as we make plans. Please don't be afraid to post comments or send an email if you have ideas or want to help with the planning. The goal is to keep this pretty casual for the 15-year reunion and plan something more elaborate for the 20-year. We just want to focus on an opportunity to catch up and see everyone! More to follow....

Day One

Well Class of 93, it's coming up on reunion time again. Can you believe it's been 15 years since we wore our purple robes on the stage in the high school auditorium (the auditorium that is actually physically gone now....seriously, how old are we?)?

I've got to say that I'm not really sure what we should do this year. We definitely need to do something...I just have to know if Amy Decker is still as much fun as she used to be and if Chris Chamberlain can still hold his breath until he passes out. I'm guessing yes and maybe.

My hope is that word spreads about this blog and that I figure out how to let people post their contact information here to help get the word out that we're having a reunion (date and time TBD). I'm new to blogging so bear with me. I am looking forward to getting the people together who want to participate in a class reunion. If you see this and want to be a part of the planning process or are interested in attending, please send me an email with your contact information.

And pass this blog onto anyone else in our class that you can...

More to follow.....Jara
